RE:SAFE strives for an open, free and responsible online space.

Social networks, platforms and online media should be an environment where the same values apply as in the classic (offline) environment: freedom of expression and the right to information along with personal responsibility; the right to criticize together with the protection of privacy; the right to irony and satire along with the protection of human dignity.

We actively participate in the public debate about the future of the digital environment, with the aim of promoting sensible innovation while protecting the principles of the democratic rule of law.

Our goals

Freedom of expression and human dignity

We strive to make the online space a safe place for free expression of opinions and seeking information with full respect for human dignity.

Developing digital literacy

We actively strengthen the digital skills and critical thinking of children and adults so that they can navigate the online world safely and with confidence.

Defense of free discussion

We protect the internet environment from abuse for unilateral censorship and restriction of pluralistic, open social debate.

Online Threat Education

We focus on early recognition of modern digital risks and dissemination of practical advice on how to effectively prevent them.

Support for fundamental rights

We systematically support and protect the interconnectedness of human dignity, freedom of expression, and the right to privacy as pillars of a free internet.

Protection of privacy and citizens' rights

We consistently defend fundamental human rights in the digital era, with particular emphasis on uncompromising protection of personal data and private life.

Rights of online media users

We stand on the side of ordinary users of internet platforms and help them effectively enforce their rights against technology giants.

Compliance with EU law and acts

We oversee the fair application of new European and national rules, such as the Digital Services Regulation (DSA), in everyday practice.

Fact-based policy

We support decisions and legislative actions based on hard data, analysis, and factual, open discussion instead of impressions.

What are we preparing?

Protection against cyberstalking

- tips on how to proceed in the event of an attack
- sample documents for protection against cyberstalking
- collection and presentation of information on online attacks (so-called cyberstalking and cyberbullying)
- processing of analyses of threats in the online space
- proposals and recommendations for relevant state and EU authorities in the form of videos, articles, legal opinions

Monitoring the information quality of the online space

- analysis of public online sources
- fact-checking of fact-checkers
- elaboration of ethical rules for the functioning of online media
- proposals and recommendations for relevant state and EU authorities

Podpořte rozumný přístup založený na důkazech a otevřené diskusi.
